Holly Witkemper, executive director at Morning Breeze Retirement Community & Healthcare Center, will be recognized by the Indiana Health Care Association (IHCA) as the 2017 Administrator of the Year on August 15 at the 2017 IHCA/INCAL Convention & Expo in Indianapolis.
Witkemper joined Morning Breeze in 2011 bringing nearly 20 years of long-term care experience to the position. As the executive director of the continuing care campus, she oversees operations, human resources, and clinical care for skilled nursing, assisted living, and independent living villas.
"Holly is the person you want caring for your mother or father. No matter what the issue is, she is ready and willing to help. Morning Breeze is the only CMS Five-Star center in a small town with several other skilled nursing homes. The center has been Five-Star since the rating started years ago. That is a consistent Five-Star rating due to the extraordinary care, commitment, and compassion shown by Holly Witkemper for her staff and residents. With her leadership, Morning Breeze has achieved a zero-tag survey and is an AHCA Bronze Commitment to Quality Award Winner," wrote Patricia McCullough, social services director at Morning Breeze in her nomination of Witkemper for this prestigious award.
The Indiana Health Care Association is Indiana's largest trade association and advocacy group representing for-profit and not-for-profit nursing homes, as well as assisted living communities, adult foster care and adult day services. The IHCA provides education, information and advocacy for health care providers, consumers and the workforce on behalf of its members.
Morning Breeze is a CMS Five-Star community which received the 2012 Indiana Health Care Association Facility of the Year Award and the 2013 Indiana Health Care Association Volunteer of the Year Award. Morning Breeze is also a 2015 recipient of the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award from the American Health Care Association.
